Super Blue Green® Algae or Colloidal Minerals?

Dear Algae Eaters

in The GetWell Blue Green DownLine...

Today, I would like to address the issue of colloidal minerals and The Algae

I do not consider colloidal minerals to be a food. They are mined out of the ground not grown anywhere. They are crude, inorganic minerals that are suspended in liquid, presumably water. These products are being marketed without toxicity studies, without laboratory assays, and without labeling information as to their exact contents. From what we do know about the composition of these products, it appears that to obtain meaningful amounts of nutritional minerals from them, undesirable amounts of toxic minerals would have to be consumed.

First, a little history. Colloidal silver was popular at the turn of the century for its anti-infective and anti-microbial properties, primarily as a topical agent. It fell out of favor in the 1940s with the rise of antibiotics. In the early 1990s, however, colloidal silver witnessed a resurgence in popularity but as a medicine, not as a nutrient, because silver has no nutritional value; and it is potentially toxic. I believe that much of the present interest in colloidal minerals is the direct result of the resurrection of colloidal silver. While the colloidal silver preparations may have some valid application as germicides, there is no evidence that other minerals prepared in the same way would be desirable as mineral supplements. Fortunately, a colloidal suspension is a suitable vehicle to lessen the toxicity of silver by limiting its absorption. It does not make sense, however, as a delivery form for essential mineral elements which need to be absorbed.

Claims of superior absorptive efficiency for colloidal minerals are based on their small particle size and their negative ionic charge. While colloidal particles are small, ranging in diameter size from 1 to 100 nanometers, it is well known that they are insoluble and still too large to diffuse easily through bodily membranes. Colloidal particles are made up of many aggregates, or clumps; and each aggregate is composed of many molecules which must be broken apart before they can be absorbed. The claim about the negative charge being favorable makes no sense, either. Most nutritional

minerals are "cations," that is, "positively charged," which attracts them to the negative charges of the transport proteins present in the mucosal lining. A negatively charged colloid would be repelled by the intestinal lining, not attracted to it, making absorption difficult, if not impossible.

The exact chemical composition of colloidal mineral products is never included in the marketing literature or provided on the labels. No data to support the safety of colloidal minerals are ever provided by the companies. However, independent laboratory analysis has shown that colloidal minerals contain a variety of toxic elements including aluminum, arsenic, lead, mercury, and cadmium. And, concentrations of essential minerals have been found to be so minor as to contribute little to one's daily requirements.

Compare this to our Super Blue Green Algae which grows in the light of day, absorbing sunlight, performing photosynthesis, manufacturing chlorophyll, and performing the natural chelation process that converts crude, inorganic minerals into safe, usable, organic nutrients for the human body. Furthermore, The Algae is a whole food that contains not only minerals, but vitamins, essential amino acids, essential fatty acids, neuropeptides, enzymes, and an array of protective phytonutrients that support the whole process of nutrition far better than any "mineral soup" ever could! I would be very worried about the safety and cleanliness of colloidal minerals. Our Algae, in contrast, is frequently tested to assure its safety, purity, and nutritional richness. Super Blue Green Algae is, without question, a superb food! Colloidal minerals are not a food, at all!

Admittedly, The Algae is just 1 part of The 10 Point Energy Enhancing Program: Cleanliness, Pure Air, Pure Water, Adequate Rest & Sleep, The All-Raw & Vegetarian Diet, Right Temperatures, Regular Exercise, Emotional Balance, and Nurturing Relationships.
